Bobby Mims was born in Houston, Texas. Mr. Mims served in the US Army during the Viet Nam War. He has a BA Degree from the University of Texas at Austin. He attended The Harvard Business School Executive Program and holds a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law. Mr. Mims is a member of the National Criminal Defense Lawyer's Association, Texas Criminal Defense Lawyer's Association, the National College of DIU Defenders, Federal Bar for the Eastern District of Texas, Smith County Bar Association, Smith County Criminal Defense Lawyer's Association, Cherokee County Bar Association and the State Bar of Texas. Mr. Mims is on the Board of Directors of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyer's Association.

Mims is designated a Texas Super Lawyer by Texas Monthly Magazine in 2006 and 2007. Mr. Mims only accepts Criminal Defense cases in serious felony cases. Mr. Mims has extensive experience in DWI Defense and is certified as a practitioner of the Standardized Field Sobriety Testing promulgated by the NHTSA. Mims has defended hundreds of citizens in jury trials over his 29 years of criminal trial experience in State and Federal Courts.
